About this book
After many years of planning and a long-running dispute over the route and funding, the Tiel-Buren-Culemborg Steam Tram (TBC) was officially inaugurated on 17 November 1906. From the very beginning, the TBC struggled with financial problems, as revenue fell far short of expectations; expansion plans were soon put on hold and the TBC remained in financial distress throughout its entire existence. This ultimately led to the company’s liquidation in 1918, less than thirteen years after it opened. This is the now rare first edition from 1967, featuring a foreword by the unrivalled (and almost omniscient) Prof. Duparc. It even includes the original promotional leaflet for this publication!
In 1967, a booklet was published on the history of the Tiel–Buren–Culemborg steam tram.
