Waterink portrays the prince from two perspectives: his public persona and his private life, within the family and behind the scenes. With contributions from Prof. J.H. Scholte and Mr J. Thomassen (who passed away whilst this book was being completed). A warmly written portrait from the years immediately after the war, when the prince was very much in the news, and a fine snapshot of the veneration of the House of Orange in the 1950s. The cover features the Prince’s monogram.
