About this book
*The Night Bride: The Memoirs of Vico* (1909) is about the fictional memoirs of an Italian nobleman and diplomat. It is the story of his three lovers, who take shape particularly in light of the author’s discoveries regarding the reality of human dream life. Thus, one of Vico’s deceased lovers is reflected through his contact with the dead in his dreams. In ‘The Night Bride’, Van Eeden succeeds in making an impression with his philosophical arguments, appealing to both readers who do believe in the importance of dreams for life, reality and the afterlife, and those who do not.
