About this book
It happens to F. Thomése. Not only does he lose his best friend, but also his favourite character, J. Kessels, with whom he had many adventures: from Tilburg to Hamburg, from New Orleans to San Francisco Bay. Disillusioned, the author resolves never to dedicate another word to him. His former best friend, however, had other ideas. ‘A voice the likes of which we find very rarely in Dutch literature.’ – Pieter Steinz on J. Kessels
